We were able to generate 41 leads in 3 weeks with an average cost per lead of $6.91 in an extremely competitive niche – immigration lawyers.

First Test

We started off with 6 different adsets with 5 different ads in each.

Since Facebook didn’t have any specific interests that would clearly show that a person was looking for immigration services, we had to conduct thorough research of the market and find single interests and combinations of interests that would likely define the target market.

After launch, we let it run for a couple of days and then started assessing the results.

Only 2 of the 6 ad sets had some potential and showed a relatively good CPM, CTR and cost per lead. So we had to kill the other 4.

Second Test

Once we were clear about the interests, we started fine-tuning the actual ads.

Only 2 out of 5 ads were bringing good results of $13-15 cost per lead, while others either got no leads or extremely expensive leads.

At this point, many people would stop and just be satisfied with what they got, but we knew we could do even better. So we created 3 more ads with new angles, and that’s where we found the hidden gem – the winning ad bringing $3-5 leads.

The ad was extremely simple in terms of design and copy, but the eye-catching power it had was crazy. And it scaled amazingly as well!

This case just proves the old adage that you never really know what will work until you test it.


It is possible to get quality leads from Facebook at an affordable price, but it does require quite some testing, knowledge of copywriting and an understanding of your market and its needs.
